The global water crisis in the world in general and in Iran in particular is a serious and comprehensive challenge. One of the key solutions to cope with this crisis is to increase the productivity of existing water resources by developing new methods of irrigation. The use of these irrigation systems is one of the best ways to properly manage water resources in the country, so that the irrigation system, with the least amount of water and the most control, saves considerably water consumption.
Drip irrigation systems are a reliable solution for optimal use of water resources in terms of their ability to provide high-efficiency water distribution. The advantages and disadvantages of drip irrigation have been reported by many researchers. The uniformity of water distribution, which is one of the most important goals in any kind of irrigation, depends on the uniformity of the water outflow from the droplets, which itself is a function of the pressure and internal structure of the droplets. The use of drip irrigation system, due to lack of water distribution through the air, runoff and the ability to control deep penetration reduces concerns about the sanitary and environmental contamination.
Other benefits of using irrigation drip tape include:
  • Uniform product growth
  • No need for leveling land
  • enough water and fertilizer distribution on time
  • decrease of weed grow
  • Saving water consumption and increasing the efficiency of irrigation operations
  • Ability to automatize irrigation system, thereby reducing the cost and irrigation time
  • Optimal use of land due to the lack of the need to create earth rivers and thus increase production
  • Prevent soil erosion, because traditional irrigation causes erosion and also increase salt content.
